Students will also learn a structured transliteration system to ensure accurate pronunciation of lyrics in the designated language, fostering clarity and authenticity in their musical expression.
Ganabadi Unit 2 builds upon the foundational knowledge from Unit 1, guiding students toward greater musical proficiency. In this stage, learners will complete their study of the basics and progress to performing simple compositions. The curriculum includes the introduction and practice of gītās as well as the Sapta Tālā Alankārās. This unit also serves as essential preparation for more advanced and challenging repertoire in subsequent levels.
Ganabadi Unit 3 advances students into intermediate-level training, combining practical exercises with a deeper understanding of Carnatic music. This unit explores the origins and evolution of the tradition, introduces key musical forms, and includes the study and performance of Swarajatis, Varnas, and introductory Keerthanas, among other compositions. Through this curriculum, students develop the skills and artistry necessary for advanced-level singing and refined, high-quality performances.
Ganabadi Unit 4 focuses on advanced practice techniques and the study of high-level repertoire. Students will deepen their understanding of Alankāras, Varnas, and Keerthanas, while also learning Kritis and being introduced to the art of improvisation. This unit is designed to equip learners with the technical mastery, musical insight, and creative expression required for exceptional performances and sophisticated compositions.
