Ganabadi Unit 1 introduces students to the essential foundations of Carnatic music. Students will also be trained in Ganabadi’s structured transliteration system to ensure precise and authentic pronunciation of lyrics in the designated language.

In Carnatic music, shruti and layā are revered as the mātā (mother) and pitā (father) of the tradition. The practical component includes foundational exercises such as the Saralī Varisai, Janta Varisai, Dāttu Varisai, and Mēla Sthāyi Varisai, along with introductory compositions including the Indian National Anthem, a short gītam, and a nōttu swaram.
